SnoringMy eyes burst open,Snoring by UPlover
It was that noise again,
That dreadful noise I hated,
that made me want to shove,
anything through my ears,
My Dad was snoring
This always happened,
when we were in a hotel room,
He knew he snored,
but he always denied it.
saying he never hears himself.
He says he'll get snoring preventions.
if I had evidence that he snored,
Of course my mom never heard him,
I don't know,
I wish I could be her,
And my brother,
Why couldn't he hear it, either?
That nasal sound,
that crushed my eardrums,
Now, what was I to do?
When we were in hotels,
I'd spend the next two hours,
listening to the roaring noise,
scrape through my ear drums,
Until I went mad,
I couldn't do that tonight,
we were skiing the next day,
We had to be aware,
and focus on our surroundings,
I had three pillows in my bed,
I took aim,
And then fired,
The pillow slammed right on his head,
and I ducked back into my pillows,
as I heard him sit up in bed.
A smile cracked,
along my face,
as he struggled,
Its My Fault It had been four weeks since the accident happened and during those four, I sat by my body as I lay in a coma beside my bed.Its My Fault by UPlover
I watched my family come in day after day, in tears, or putting on a brave smile. It was unsettling to see my father cry because he was never one to get so emotional. I felt the tears run down my cheeks, but they disappeared when they hit the ground. Nothing exists when you’re having an out of body experience.
The doctors didn’t know how long I would be in the coma for, but they knew, if I woke up, I’d never be able to walk again.
It was the best day of my life before the accident happened. I was signed on to direct a movie and I bought my ring to get engaged to my girlfriend who I’ve known since kindergarten.
Lourie sat by the bed gripping my hand. I wanted to touch it so badly. Whenever I put my ghostly hand on her, it only went right though. “I’m going to wake
The Ocean of UniqueMonique sat in her desk and painted a picture she drew. She worked diligently so she wouldn’t mess anything up. Her hair was pinned up in a ponytail. The last thing she needed was blue hair. The Ocean of Unique by UPlover
Monique slowly got up from her chair to go change her cup of water. Without even making a noise the class was staring at her.
Why was everyone always looking at her?
It’s not like she was the first student to ever show up at a school.
Were they staring at her legs? They weren’t skinny like the other kids.
Was it because she was quiet? Monique didn’t know that much English yet to have a conversation with someone. She had so many stories to tell, but when could she tell them?
She was the only girl in the class who had dark hair, making her stand out more from everyone else.
Monique looked back down at her picture, determined to finish her painting.
She lightly stroked the oc
Friendship Never Dies Chapter 4“... Happy Birthday to you...”Friendship Never Dies Chapter 4 by UPlover
“Blow out the candles!” Lourie shouted wanting to have a piece of the chocolate cake so badly.
Gary blew out the flame on the number 13 and everybody clapped as Ms. Albenson flashed her camera non stop. “Yay, my baby is 13! Smile more sweetie!”
“Mom stop, you’re embarrassing me.” Gary said to his mother trying to hide his rosy cheeks from the camera.
“No, we have to get more with bunny ears!” George said posing more bunny ears on Gary’s head. “And we have to get one where we’re pretending to throw cake in your face.” Lourie said about to pick up the huge cake.
“Do not waste that cake, it took all night to bake!” Mrs. DiCosta scolded. “And do not start a food fight like last time, it took hours just to wash the frosting out.” Lourie’s older sister, Lisa, complained.
“Don’t worry, I’ll just look as if I’m going to t
An Apple A Day (Warning: Death)A year ago the world was overpopulated. An Apple A Day (Warning: Death) by tophtheblindbandit
Places that had previously only contained a small amount of people at a time had become so full it was difficult to go a few feet without needing to push past someone.
If you lived in one of the more populated areas you may have needed to sleep standing up, surrounded by strangers as everyone you knew had been swept away in the crowd.
Places that had once been completely deserted had suddenly gained a population. People moving to burning hot deserts and icy cold Antarctica to escape the mob of people continuing to grow.
Then a month ago it stopped.
The population started slowly decreasing.
People started dropping dead in the street.
Everyone is dying and people are calling it a miracle.
Does no-one else notice the strangeness of this situation?
A helicopter appears in the sky, apples falling from it like hundreds of tiny bombs.
Each member of the crowd grabbing one fruit each. After a few weeks of the helicopters visits everyone quickly learned n

"YEAHHHH!!! I'm a NINJA!" Alexia cheered bouncing around me. Ninja? Where did that come from? "A ninja? So, you can, like, climb walls and stuff?" I asked. "Hell yeah, I can! Come on, Victoria! I'll prove to you!" she said sprinting to a nearby building. A rather tall building, at that. "Alright, then. Prove it." I said walking over to her. This was going to be good. "Time me okay?" She asked. "Okay." "Okay, then! Ready.. set.. GO!!" she cheered as she... disappeared? "Alex?" I asked, turning around in a full circle to see where she went. "Okay, Alexia! I get it! You can come come back now!" I said, raising my voice a bit so she would be able to hear me. "Victoria.." I heard someone whisper fr
Heart of Fire"Come on! You know I'm scared of ghosts!" I whimpered, diving behind my beautiful girlfriend, Julissa, in fear. "Oh, you're such a wimp Mike!" she said, pulling me away from her. No! Who will protect me now? "Well, it's not my fault i've been able to see spirits since I was born!" I exclaimed, standing up straight and dusting off my jacket. Well, it wasn't entirely false. I have been able to see ghosts since I was little. She knows this, too! I just don't see why she has to rub it in my face all the time.. That would explain why I'm such a coward.. "Right, I forgot about that.. Sorry.." she said, giving me a small peck on the check. Okay, now I remember why we started dating.Heart of Fire by PandaGirlRead
"Oh my god we're gonna die!!!" I screamed, wrapping my arms around Julissa. Oh great. When I said that it sounded like I was going through puberty all over again.. "No we're not!.. I think.. I think we're okay." she said, peeking around the corner of the wall. I
To Live, To Die (2)Well, I guess they were right. This was a good spot to set up. We have plenty of food, plenty of space, and with the river nearby, a good water supply. It helps that Russel, being the genius he is, came up with the awesome idea of a water purifier. It makes it seem like this is just child's play to our group. "Hey, Mikey. You okay?" I heard somebody say from behind me. I slightly looked behind me to see who it was. Of course, it was Eric. "Hm? Yeah, I was just thinking." I smiled at him. "Cool. So, you ready for our shift?" He asked me, grabbing his hunting rifle from his tent. "Sure. Who's taking care of Samantha today?" I asked him, standing up. "I got Elizabeth to take care of her again." He said. Wow, he really trusts the new girl doesn't he? I can't blame him, she's been taking care of her little brother alone even before this whole zombie apocalypse thing happened, so she doesn't seem to mind much. "Alright, then. Let's go." I said, walking towards the nearby forest. EricTo Live, To Die (2) by PandaGirlRead
The EarthBlood Amulet #1The city swallowed the strangers whole. The EarthBlood Amulet #1 by SnappyIrides
They stood 'twixt buildings that soared into the depths of the night sky, girded with lurid, flashing lights. A welcome sign hovered over their heads, translucent as a ghost: “Welcome to Midekah — the place where magic happens!” One of the trio snorted a laugh at the irony — nothing could be further from the truth.
“There they are, girls,” Aunt Lieko said scornfully. “There is the humans’ nest, festering in their arrogance and flashy machinery.”
She glanced at her two nieces standing on the footpath, staring wide-eyed at the artificial monstrosity. Kyrie was swarthy, with tumbling black locks of raven-black hair, where Aldora was fair, with skin that almost glowed in the fluorescent light of the city. They both looked up at her and nodded slowly, the same question mirrored in their startling violet eyes: why did father send us here?
Aunt Lieko gestured them forward; she had no satisfac
A World for Us- Ch. 1 P. 4 (Chapter 1 Finale)I quickly ran down the stairs in effort to stop Vanessa from hitting Zachary again. It didn't help that Zach got hurt easily, either.. Ha, I remember the one day she knocked him out. Didn't think it was possible for V to hurt anybody until that day.. I quickly opened the door without hesitation and grabbed V by the wrist to stop her from hitting Zachary again. Zach sighed. "Thanks, Autumn." He said, checking his arms and face for bruises. As far as I could tell, he didn't have any. I looked away from him, now turning my full attention to Vanessa.A World for Us- Ch. 1 P. 4 (Chapter 1 Finale) by PandaGirlRead
As soon as I did that, she tried her best to give me her most innocent smile. That won't work on me this time, Vanessa. "Vanessa.." I sighed. "What happened this time?" I asked with my usual 'bored' face. I don't try to look bored, it's just the way my face naturally looks. "Well, he was making fun of me because I've never had a boyfriend before!" She complained... Really? That's why she was hitting him? I didn't say anyth
A World for Us - Chapter 1 Part 3 "Woooaaaah.." I heard from behind me. As soon as I heard that, I whipped around, and with the click of a button, the portal deactivated. "Hey, calm down, sis! It's just me!" Oh thank Ferg.. It's just Tyler.. "How many times have I told you not to come into my room?" I asked, trying my best to stay calm.. It wasn't working very well.. "As many times as I've come in here." He responded. Nice one, little bro.. I've taught him well. "Sorry Autumn, it's just that I was wondering why you're door was open." He said, pointing a thumb at my bedroom door. "My door was open?" I wondered aloud. I swear I closed it.. "Yeah.. you didn't open it?" "N-no.. I closed it when I came in here.." I said, a bit confused. Actually, really confused. How could my door just open out of nowhere? Did Tyler open it? I don't think he did.. He knows better..A World for Us - Chapter 1 Part 3 by PandaGirlRead
"So, what's up with the portal?" Tyler finally asked me after a while. "Oh, I just forgot my sweatshirt
A World for Us - Chapter 1 Part 2I hope he isn't mad.. Zachary doesn't get mad easily, right? I don't.. I don't think he does.. Kaint! How could I forget about him walking home with Vanessa and I? I'm pretty sure he doesn't care.. Now- what was I doing? Oh, right. I'm still walking home aren't I? I probably look like such a stalker 'cause I'm still standing in front of Vee's house... I should probably go home now..A World for Us - Chapter 1 Part 2 by PandaGirlRead
Luckily, it takes me less than a minute to get to my own house, considering it's just next door of Vanessa's. Just before walking inside, I stop to admire the beautiful, different colored flowers that my step-father had planted. Uh, I hate him so much.. I just want my dad back... "Autumn!" I heard somebody call out. I'd recognize that voice anywhere. "Hey, Tyler." I greet my younger brother with a smile as he runs up to me. "How was school?" I asked him. He shook my hand off of his head as I playfully messed it up. "It was as awesome as usual!" He cheered with

The synchronized turning of every page
Being forced to stand on a stage
These people all fill me with rage
“I could easily destroy this place
To find me they would have to chase
I could turn the walls into rubble-”
OH SH-! They heard me! Now I’m in trouble!
The class writing about a book we read
As another part of my soul drops dead
But I’m too distracted by the clocks tick
“Mum I can’t go today, I’m sick…
People might arguePeople might arguePeople might argue by Kiri-The-Wolf
that the world wide web causes people to no longer care
but who are they to judge
when they haven't stayed up all night
desperately trying to convince a stranger out of suicide?
Fingers frantically flying across the keys
hoping somehow to make a difference
People might argue
that it closes you off
but who are they to judge
when sometimes the only place people can find
is on a screen
where they cannot be judged by their appearance
People might argue
that it is evil
full of hate
But they do not realize
sometimes the hate
is still there
when the screen is turned off
Pyramid of PainIts not something you'd write ballads aboutPyramid of Pain by SnappyIrides
Or something that will rouse a crowd
Just a little pyramid of pain
Sitting on my heart
And cries disregarded,
Not something you would think about
Or tout as profound.
Spout all the truisms you wish
The 'I told you so's and reprimands
It does not make you wise
It does not you smart
All I've got is my guts and my heart.
Intangible arms against the world
Wield all the emotional blackmail you wish
All the empty threats and self-righteous anger
That kind of bait won't catch you any fish
Spout all of the excuses you need,
Stoic denials to my pleas
All the words I've heard before
All the cliches and false proverbs
They are all flimsy shields against myopic foresight,
A crooked rudder in treacherous seas
How can you be so blind?
How can you be so ignorant?
Can you not see,
Sitting on my heart
This little pyramid of pain?
Why won't it just go away?
Words MisconstruedCan I sayWords Misconstrued by SnappyIrides
“I love you”
Without my words
I speak not of grand declarations
Loyalty for life, affection unconditional
I try not to make a loud proclamation
…to burn down a city
…to sweep away the despair
…to drive away the cold
Can I say
“I love you”
Without my words
This is a voice that whispers
Quieter than the winter wind
It tells a tale of humble cast
It is the tale of
… the spark of a smile
…the love in a laugh
…a peaceful moment shared
… an hour, a day, gone too fast
Can I say
“I love you”
Without my words
This is not the love of
Wordsworth, Keats, or Shakespeare
Though the words are the same,
And the sentiment is there,
Mine is something smaller:
To say that I care.
The Orange and The PigWhen Carrie met AlexThe Orange and The Pig by Stars-Bread99
She was limping
And hurting more than her
Pulsing mind could understand.
And she saw him
And her immediate thought
Was to throw herself on him,
She could close her eyes and
Think of Momma when he hugged her.
And she vocalized all of this
Stretching out her blood stained arms
Towards his tall, suited form,
Which would of course become externally
When his mind caught her undeniable satellite signal.
When Alex met Carrie
And her distress
Spilled through the street
Like a tidal wave.
And she fell into his arms,
And the blood caused his stomach
To lurch out against his skin
And she said
'Please I'm dying'
In this Southern U. S. type goloss.
And Alex was very confused,
But being the horrorshow young man
He was so painfully forced to be,
He knew he had to help.
And while he carried her
Through the streets going
Bog knows where,
His agitated mind reminded him of

Under the pile of dead roses,
Lies the human who has recarnated
Into a boy's body.
An angel is calling him.
"Kayla," it echoes, "would you like to return to your old life?"
The boy stands up with pride and takes a moment to think.
Until he screams in pure joy, "I am KYLE"
Asylum. 1I'll bet father can't hurt me in here, Thought Ezekiel.Asylum. 1 by DemonLurch
A number of male and female nurses on duty approached him cautiously, smiling big fake smiles, as if on their guard in the event that he might try to get feisty. They made a note of his initial appearance in full detail, from the once snowy white pajamas that he had failed to remove for two days now, his long greasy reddish-purple hair that hung outward in swollen strings, to the holey gray socks on his feet.
Nurse Grimes and an unnamed dark skinned male nurse led him to the restroom where they bathed him and he received a new wardrobe. Like all the other patients, he was dressed in a loose light apricot cotton shirt and cornflower blue sweatpants.
They took him out to the main hall were Nurse Grimes asked him what medications he was on while he was on the lower levels of the building. He told her that he couldn't remember their names. She let out an irritated sigh; she had made a living out of dealing with patients like him and a

Ezekiel was reed thin and had been in deep thought before the nurse came into his room; his long messy puce colored hair rested on his shoulders and caused his vermilion eyes to pop. He bore a skull tattoo on his left forearm, signifying the death of the innocence of his youth and trust betrayed long ago even before his family put him in this wrenched institution.
He was sitting in his favorite chair that he had positioned to always face the window. He had a pleasant view of the local restaurants surrounding the building that he had been held prisoner in for the past year and a half. He was still dressed in his white pajamas and chocolate-brown robe despite it being the afternoon. He put down his journal and did the nurse the courtesy of facing her as he spoke. "How do I feel?...I kinda feel like kick
